At Glenville Nutrition we specialise in nutritional support for fertility. This package will help you to optimise your chances of conceiving and supporting a healthy pregnancy. In addition, whether you are just in the planning phase or have been trying for some time, it is worthwhile to have some initial investigations carried out.
What is included?
For Women
-
One hour nutritional consultation
Tailored nutritional advice, meal plans and supplement recommendations to help you to optimise your fertility and improve your nutrition and lifestyle to prepare for conception
-
Basic nutritional blood tests
Tests include important key vitamins and minerals for a healthy and successful pregnancy- this includes ferritin (iron stores), folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin D
-
AMH blood test
Your AMH levels may indicate your ovarian reserve. A decreased ovarian reserve may suggest that your fertility is in decline as your AMH will decrease with age. However, in some cases AMH can improve depending on the underlying cause.
-
Ultrasound
An ultrasound is carried out mid-cycle to assess the number of developing of follicles in the ovary and whether you are ovulating. This can help to diagnose poor ovarian reserve (where there may be a low number of follicles developing each month) or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS, where there are a larger number of follicles developing).
This ultrasound can also asses the major structure of your uterus and help to detect such abnormalities as fibroids or polyps amongst others. -
Doctors review
A fertility consultation and review of the results of the ultrasound is also included. The participating clinic/ physician varies depending on region.
For Men
-
Couples consultation
An additional 30 minutes is added on to the nutritional consultation in line with our couples fertility consultations (1hr 30 min). You will receive tailored nutritional, lifestyle and supplement recommendations.
-
Semen analysis
A semen analysis will tell you about how many sperm are in the ejaculate (sperm count), whether they are of the correct shape to perform their function (morphology) and how well they can move (motility). This also looks for signs of infection or other factors that may inhibit the transit of sperm toward the egg. We highly recommend that men trying to conceive have this preliminary test done early on in the process of investigations.
